Keosauqua Health Care Center is proud of our caring, dedicated staff. Managers and staff are empowered to create a home-like environment for the Residents. Caring staff combined with continuing education ensures Keosauqua Health Care Center is working to improve upon the services they provide to local seniors. Not only do we strive to meet the physical needs of each Resident but also their psychosocial well being.

Kayla Huntington – Administrator, LNHA, MSW
Kayla Huntington is our Administrator here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. After completion of her MSW in 2006, she worked at Alternatives for Older Adults in Moline, IL. She held several positions during her 8 years with the company, starting as a care coordinator and working her way up to the program director. She then decided to return to her home town of Keosauqua, Iowa where she began working as the social worker at Good Samaritan Home of Keosauqua. Kayla obtained her Bachelor of Arts with honors in Social Work from the University of Iowa, and later earned her Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Kayla enjoys spending time with her son, Malik, family, and friends. Kayla and her son enjoy playing games, building legos, reading, taking walks, riding their bikes, and going to the park. Kayla and her family also enjoy barbeques, campfires, playing euchre, and spending time at the family pond. Kayla started as the Social Worker in our building in July of 2013. Later, Ide Management Group purchased the building and she began to work towards her nursing home administrator license. Kayla practiced for one year on her provisional license and completed her course work and exam to earn her administrator license in November of 2016. Kayla is a great asset to Keosauqua Health Care Center and is an astounding leader. In 2016, Ide Management Group named Kayla Huntington the Administrator of the Year, we are so lucky to have her!
Megan Hulbert – Director of Nursing, RN-BSN
Megan Hulbert is our Director of Nursing here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Megan comes to us with a lot of nursing background. Megan started working as a CNA in a skilled nursing facility at the age of 16, then in 2009 she earned her LPN and began working in home care. Megan went on to earn her RN in 2010 from Indian Hills Community College, and worked at Cargill Meat Solutions as the Occupational Health RN for two years. In 2012 she served as an acute care and pediatrics nurse, and worked in labor and delivery at Davis County Hospital. The OB department at Davis County Hospital closed, and that is when Megan went on to be a traveling nurse for 6 months to various critical access hospitals as a labor and delivery and ER/House Supervisor. Megan earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2014 from Mercy College of Health Sciences, and went on to be a nurse in the ICU, Medical/Surgical/Telemetry floor at Ottumwa Regional Hospital. Megan began working at Keosauqua Health Care Center in April 2017 as a Charge Nurse and accepted the DON position in July of 2017. In Megan’s free time she enjoys spending time with her family, and they spend every Sunday together on the family farm. Megan enjoys quilting, various crafts, landscaping, and gardening. Megan also serves a non-profit for the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, Mitakuye Oyasin. Megan has a vast knowledge of the nursing field, and is a great asset on our team!
Nancy Roush – Assistant Director of Nursing, BSN, RN
Nancy is our Assistant Director of Nursing here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Nancy has always worked in the health care field and started in the field as a Receptionist at Van Buren County Hospital prior to going to nursing school. Nancy then worked in Medical Records in Maine and then moved back to Milton, Iowa. Since 2004, Nancy has been working in the nursing field. Nancy worked at Van Buren County Hospital on Medical/Surgical and then later transferred to the OR Department. Nancy joined our team in January of 2015 as the ADON. Nancy obtained her LPN/RN from Indian Hills Community College in 2004, and later earned her BSN from the University of Iowa in 2014. In her free time, she enjoys having sleepovers and spending time with her grandchildren, traveling to Maine to visit family, watching tv series with her husband, Tim, and Nancy loves to read. Nancy is such fantastic ADON, in fact, in 2017 she won IMG’s ADON of the year!
Kyla Yates – MDS Coordinator, RN, BSN, RAC-CT
Kyla is our MDS Coordinator here at Keosauqua Health Care Center, MDS stands for Minimum Data Set. Kyla comes from a large background in the nursing field. She started in 2000 as a CNA in long-term and acute care. She then became an RN after graduating from John Wood Community College in 2008, from there she worked at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL as an RN on the Medical/Surgical/Float for two years. From 2010 to 2012 she was a traveling medical/surgical/telemetry/pediatrics nurse. Then in 2012, she began working for Good Samaritan Society VB as the HR Director, Staff Development Specialist, and QAPI Coordinator all while taking on-call for the floor for nursing. Kyla earned her BSN from Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2014, and obtained her RAC-CT in May of 2015, and then went on to become the MDS Coordinator in November of 2015 for Ide Management Group. Kyla is very knowledgeable about ICD 10 Coding, Restorative Therapy Programs, and Infection Control. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, all outdoor activities – horseback riding, fishing, hunting, and riding four wheelers. Kyla also, is an avid couponer! Kyla is a great asset to the team and takes on extra tasks to help out her team!
Kelsey Fitch – Nurse Manager, RN
Kelsey Fitch is our Nurse Manager here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Kelsey began working with adults with disabilities at the age of twenty and continued this while attending nursing school. Kelsey graduated from Indian Hills Community College in 2014 as a Registered Nurse. Kelsey has experience in the nursing field as she worked in acute care/medical/surgical/telemetry floor at Ottumwa Regional Hospital. Kelsey enjoys spending time with her family, and has a little boy named, Wyatt. Together with her family, Kelsey enjoys spending time on their family farm with their cattle, riding four wheelers, and going to the lake and traveling when she has the time. Kelsey joined our team here at Keosauqua Health Care Center in January of 2018. We are very glad to have Kelsey on our team!
Marley Hall – Activities Director, BS
Marley is our Activities Director here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Prior to being our Activities Director, Marley completed in an internship at the Psychiatric Unit and Rehabilitation Unit at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. Marley graduated from Western Illinois University in 2015, with a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation where she also played Division I basketball. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Marley loves being an aunt to her 2 nephews and 3 nieces, and she has a strong passion for sports and really enjoys watching the local teams! Marley joined our team in January of 2016 and is “Dog Mom” to our facility dog, King! In addition, Marley does a fantastic job coordinating outings and New Chapters for our residents!
Sharon Feldmann – Business Office Manager
Sharon is our Business Office Manager here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Sharon started her career at Davis County Hospital in the Business and Admissions Office in 1978 and became the office manager in 1986. Sharon then started with Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa in 2006 and transferred to the Keosauqua facility in 2010. Sharon worked in insurance and billing at Good Samaritan and then when Ide Management Group purchased the building, she took over as Business Office Manager. Sharon enjoys working in long-term care and has always worked in the healthcare field. In her free time, she enjoys riding her Harley-Davidson with her husband and taking trips. Sharon really loves to go antiquing with her friends, and relaxing on her families fishing boat. Sharon is a great asset to our team here at KHCC and is very knowledgeable about billing!
Kayla Schwartz – Community Liaison Director, BS
Kayla is our Community Liaison Director here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Kayla has a background in case management and had previously served families as a care coordinator and has worked with adults who suffer mental illness for three years, and then she joined the IMG team at Keosauqua Health Care Center as the Community Liaison Director in September of 2016. Kayla earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Minor in Pre-Occupational Therapy in 2014, from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, MO. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, camping, going to concerts, and spending time with her husband, family, friends, and her golden retriever, Lucy. Kayla does a great job helping our families through the admissions process!
Tiffany Howard – Dietary Manager, CDM
Tiffany is our Dietary Manager here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Tiffany has worked as a waitress and has a lot of dietary service experience. Along with her dietary experiences, Tiffany also completed an internship with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. After that she worked in the mental health field for about five years before starting as the Dietary Manager here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Tiffany has her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and has a Minor in Psychology. Tiffany also has her AA and AAS. Tiffany is a Certified Dietary Manager and has completed ServSafe. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Tiffany and her husband, enjoy going horseback riding and camping with friends, they own several horses and three dogs. Tiffany lives on her family’s century farm so there are often farm related chores that keep Tiffany and her family busy. Tiffany started working at Keosauqua Health Care Center in the kitchen as a cook and then later applied and accepted the Dietary Manager position, Tiffany loves cooking for our residents and interacting with them daily.
Josh Wiley – Maintenance Director
Josh is our Maintenance Director and EVS Director here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Previously Josh worked on Maintenance at Van Buren County Hospital for 15 years, and has been at Keosauqua Health Care Center since June of 2015. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his daughter, Raelin. Josh also owns a side business, removing snow in the winter. Josh has been our Maintenance Director since June of 2015, and in 2016, Josh was named IMG’s Maintenance Man of the Year! Josh is a great addition to our team here, and there is not much he can’t fix!
Kathy Glick – Director of Social Services, RN, BSN
Kathy Glick is our Director of Social Services and has a strong clinical background in nursing. Kathy’s career has a lot of overlapping experience because she often has worked two jobs. Kathy has worked in nursing since the age of 16 as a CNA, then LPN, and then RN. Kathy had been a geriatric nurse for 22 years, a home health nurse for three years, an acute care nurse for two years, an emergency and primary care nurse for two years, and a hospice nurse for three years. Kathy also served as a psychiatric, drug, and alcohol detox and treatment nurse for six years. She shared one week of her summer for 18 years as a Counselor and Camp Nurse for the mentally handicapped. Kathy earned her Associates Degree in nursing from Southeastern Community College, and her BSN from Iowa Wesleyan. In her free time, Kathy enjoys spending time with her family and friends with picnics, camping, campfires, and riding horses. Kathy enjoys mountain vacations and vacations that include her horses. During the year, Kathy attends many rodeo events with her family as her daughter is a rodeo queen and nephews ride broncs and bulls. Kathy also enjoys scrapbooking these memories. She began working for Good Samaritan VB in April of 2015 as the MDS Coordinator and then when IMG purchased Keosauqua Health Care Center, Kathy transitioned to the Social Services Director. Kathy is great leader here, and she leads all our care conferences and behavior management team and does a fantastic job advocating for our residents.
Hannah Losey – Rehab Coordinator, PT, DPT, ATC
Hannah is our Rehab Coordinator here at Keosauqua Health Care Center, she began her first job was at a small hospital in Marengo, Iowa. Then she moved back to her hometown of Keosauqua, Iowa and worked for Jefferson County Health Center, where she worked in acute care and treated outpatients. She then transferred to Great River Medical Center until July of 2017, when she joined our team here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Hannah earned her Bachelor Degree in Athletic Training at the University of Iowa. She then obtained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Des Moines University. In her free time, she likes to be with her growing family, who loves to go swimming, and being outside. Hannah and her husband love to travel and have three small children. Hannah started here at the Staff Physical Therapist and she is now the Rehab Coordinator. We love having Hannah on our team, because she has an upbeat personality and her specialty areas include geriatrics and acute care and she does a wonderful job with our therapy patients.
Dr. Dana Brecount – Medical Director, DO
Doctor Brecount is the Medical Director here at Keosauqua Health Care Center and she also is a Family Physician at Van Buren County Hospital. She grew up in Southeast Iowa and completed her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at the University of Iowa, then later graduated from Des Moines University in 2010 as a Doctor of Osteopathy. Doctor Brecount completed her residency in Kirksville, Missouri at Northeast Regional Medical Center and then started her career at Van Buren County Hospital in 2013. She joined Keosauqua Health Care Center as the Medical Director in 2015. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two boys. During the summer she and her family enjoy going boating and four wheeling. Doctor Brecount is a great asset as the Medical Director here, and we really enjoy the resident centered care that she provides.
King – Community Dog
King is our facility dog here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. He was adopted by our facility in April of 2016 with a fractured femur, we were able to partner with Iowa State University to fix his femur and rehabilitate him. King enjoys spending time with the residents and he resides with Marley, our Activities Director, some weekends he does go home with Nancy our ADON. King loves it here, he never passes up the opportunity for a nap, and he loves to be in the courtyard playing with the squirrels. The residents love to keep snacks in their room, and King also loves that.
