Keosauqua Health Care Center is proud of our caring, dedicated staff. Managers and staff are empowered to create a home-like environment for the Residents. Caring staff combined with continuing education ensures Keosauqua Health Care Center is working to improve upon the services they provide to local seniors. Not only do we strive to meet the physical needs of each Resident but also their psychosocial well being.

Kayla Huntington – Administrator, LNHA, MSW
Kayla Huntington is the Administrator at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Kayla’s biggest role is to support the team of caregivers that provide vital services to the people that choose to live in our facility. She has a Master’s Degree in Social Work and achieved her Nursing Home Administrator License in 2016. Kayla enjoys being part of a smaller community and loves the fact that the local businesses want what is best for one another. Kayla likes spending time with her son, family, and friends. She enjoys playing games, doing puzzles with the residents, listening to music, and traveling. A fun fact about Kayla is that she loves Tai food, Whitey’s ice cream, and chai tea lattes with extra chai! Kayla’s goal is to lead by example and promote always doing what is best for our customers, families, and co-workers.
Elizabeth Juarez – RN, Director of Nursing
Elizabeth Juarez is the Director of Nursing at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Elizabeth began her nursing career as a Certified Nurse’s Aide before obtaining her LPN, and eventually her RN. Throughout her nursing journey Elizabeth held a few different positions here at KHCC, including nurse’s aide and LPN. After earning her RN, Elizabeth held another Director of Nursing position before transitioning back to the Keosauqua Health Care Center. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, playing in a pool league, working out, and working on her new home! A fun fact about Elizabeth is that she made the first pizza at Pizza Hut in Fairfield, Iowa – so make sure and look for her infamous picture on wall at that location!
Nancy Roush – Assistant Director of Nursing, BSN, RN
Nancy is our Assistant Director of Nursing here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Nancy earned her BSN from the University of Iowa in 2014, and joined our team in January of 2015. In her free time, she enjoys having sleepovers and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoys watching TV series with her husband and has a passion for reading. A fun fact about Nancy is that she takes a yearly trip to Maine (where she used to live) and loves every minute of it! Nancy was even the recipient of the 2017 IMG ADON of the year award!
Kyla Yates – MDS Coordinator, RN, BSN, RAC-CT
Kyla is our MDS Coordinator and Nurse Manager here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Kyla started at Good Samaritan Society VB in 2012 as the HR Director, Staff Development Specialist, and QAPI Coordinator. During this time, Kyla earned her BSN from Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2014, and obtained her RAC-CT in 2015. All of this work led to Kyla taking over the MDS Coordinator position here at KHCC. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and all outdoor activities – horseback riding, fishing, hunting, and riding four wheelers. A fun fact about Kyla is she is an avid couponer, loves black Friday shopping, and she is studying to become a nurse practitioner!
Kelsey Fitch – Nurse Manager, RN
Kelsey Fitch is our Nurse Manager here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Kelsey began working with adults with disabilities at the age of twenty and continued this while attending nursing school. Kelsey graduated from Indian Hills Community College in 2014 as a Registered Nurse. Kelsey has experience in the nursing field as she worked in acute care/medical/surgical/telemetry floor at Ottumwa Regional Hospital. Kelsey joined our team in January of 2018. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, and her son! Together with her family, Kelsey enjoys spending time on their farm with their cattle, riding four wheelers, going to the lake, and traveling. A fun fact about Kelsey is that she can sing all 50 states in alphabetical order!
Marley Hall – Life Enrichment Coordinator, BS
Marley is the Life Enrichment Coordinator here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Prior to her job at the facility, Marley completed an internship at the Psychiatric Unit and Rehabilitation Unit at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. Marley graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation, where she also played Division I basketball. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Marley loves being an aunt to her 3 nephews and 3 nieces, and she has a strong passion for sports. Fun fact, Marley has recently started coaching in our area and is really enjoying herself so far! Marley joined our team in January of 2016 and is the “Dog Mom” to our facility dog, King! Marley was the recipient of Ide Management Group’s Life Enrichment Coordinator of the Year in 2018 and is a great asset to our team!
Sharon Feldmann – Business Office Manager
Sharon is our Business Office Manager here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Sharon started with Good Samaritan VB in 2010 and stayed on through the transition of becoming Keosauqua Health Care Center. Sharon enjoys working in long-term care and has always worked in the healthcare field. A fun fact about Sharon is that she enjoys riding her Harley-Davidson with her husband and taking trips to new places. Sharon really loves to go antiquing with her friends and relaxing on her family’s fishing boat.
Kayla Schwartz – Community Liaison Director, BS
Kayla is the Community Liaison Director here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Kayla earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Culver-Stockton College in 2014. She has a background in case management and previously served families as a care coordinator, she had worked with adults who suffer severe mental illness for several years, and then she joined the IMG team at Keosauqua Health Care Center as the Community Liaison Director in September of 2016. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, camping, and country music concerts. Fun fact, Kayla loves golden retrievers and has two, Lucy and Nova! Kayla does a great job helping our families through the admissions process and was Ide Management Group’s Community Liaison Director of the Year in 2018!
Tiffany Howard – Dietary Manager, CDM, BA, AAS, AA
Tiffany is our Dietary Manager here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Tiffany has her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, and is also a Certified Dietary Manager. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, especially her husband and little girl. They enjoy going horseback riding and camping with friends, and they own several of their own horses. A fun fact about Tiffany is that she started working at the Keosauqua Health Care Center as a cook, but jumped on the opportunity to become the CDM when it presented itself. Tiffany loves cooking for our residents and interacting with them daily!
Josh Wiley – Maintenance Director
Josh is our Maintenance Director and EVS Director here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. Josh worked many years at VBCH in maintenance before coming to the Keosauqua Health Care Center in June of 2015. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his daughter, and also owns a side business removing snow in the winter. A fun fact about Josh, is that he likes to travel, particularly out West! In 2016, Josh was named IMG’s Maintenance Man of the Year!
Kathy Tyson – Director of Social Services, RN, BSN
Kathy Tyson is our Director of Social Services here at KHCC. Kathy earned her BSN from Iowa Wesleyan. She worked in many nursing positions before becoming the MDS Coordinator for Good Samaritan VB in 2015. From there, she transitioned into the role of Social Services Director for the Keosauqua Health Care Center. In her free time, Kathy enjoys spending time with her family and friends with picnics, camping, campfires, and riding horses. Kathy loves the mountains and enjoys vacations that include her horses. During the year, Kathy attends many rodeo events with her family as her daughter is a rodeo queen and nephews ride broncs and bulls. A fun fact about Kathy is that she used to dress up as “Polly Esther” the clown and volunteer at local hospitals!
Hannah Losey – Rehab Coordinator, PT, DPT, ATC
Hannah is our Rehab Coordinator here at Keosauqua Health Care Center. She joined our team in 2017, and we are so thankful she did! Hannah earned her bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training at the University of Iowa before obtaining her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Des Moines University. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family. Their favorite activities are going swimming and being outside! A fun fact about Hannah is that her two youngest children are 1 year and six days apart! We love having Hannah on our team, because she has an upbeat personality and her specialty areas include geriatrics and acute care.
Dr. Dana Brecount – Medical Director, DO
Doctor Brecount is the Medical Director here at Keosauqua Health Care Center and she also is a Family Physician at Van Buren County Hospital. She grew up in Southeast Iowa and completed her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at the University of Iowa, then later graduated from Des Moines University in 2010 as a Doctor of Osteopathy. Doctor Brecount completed her residency in Kirksville, Missouri at Northeast Regional Medical Center and then started her career at Van Buren County Hospital in 2013. She joined Keosauqua Health Care Center as the Medical Director in 2015. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two boys. During the summer she and her family enjoy going boating and four wheeling. A fun fact about our Medical Director, is that she has ran four half marathons! Doctor Brecount is a great asset as the Medical Director here, and we really enjoy the resident centered care that she provides.
King – Community Dog
King is our facility dog here at Keosauqua Health Care Center, and he is a Husky/Mastiff mix! He was adopted by our facility in April of 2016. At the time of his adoption, King had a fractured femur - we were able to partner with Iowa State University to fix his femur and rehabilitate him. King enjoys spending time with the residents and he resides with Marley, our Activities Director. King’s favorite activities include napping, barking during exercise, and playing in the courtyard with the rabbits and squirrels. A fun fact about King is that he loves to lay in snow.
